Wendell is the founder of Wendell Alexander Realty. He established the company in 1985 and took in two partners in 2014. Prior to establishing his own company he had been a partner in another Weakley County real estate company and prior to that he had been affiliated with a real estate company in Columbia, TN. Wendell's real estate career spanned for over 45 years and in 2008 he was bestowed the honor of Realtor Emeritus by the National Association of Realtors. Wendell was active for a number of years with the Reelfoot Regional Association of Realtors, Tennessee Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. Wendell Alexander has served on the Tennessee Real Estate Commission since 2005 when he received an appointment by Governor Phil Bredesen. He also served on Tennessee's initial Real Estate Appraiser Commission under Governor Ned Ray McWherter. An Army veteran, Wendell was a member of the local American Legion and served as Vice-Commander. In 2001 Wendell received a Certificate in recognition of 40 years as a Master Mason. He was also a Shriner. On a personal note, Wendell resided on a cattle farm with his wife, Shirley, on the edge of Dresden.
